Re: Play Alchemy:

A Revival Turning Parking Lots to Play Streets

Urban Design Studio – Individual Work Cornell University, Fall 2025
Instructor: Anna Darling
Site: South Philadelphia, PA

Overview:
Rowhouse fabric fractured by highways and truck routes. Children lack safe play access. Selected blocks become distributed play corridors—asphalt depaved, concrete up-cycled into play elements, circulation shifts to walking and cycling. Spatial analysis of schools, injury corridors, and historic water lines guides intervention. Low-cost, repeat-able framework rebuilding local agency.

My Responsibilities:
Spatial analysis, depaving strategy, material upcycling, circulation redesign, play corridor network design.
